How do you get rid of "local area connection two
disconnected" - I've tried disenabling it through my
network places

goto lan connection properties, click on configure, click on
driver tab, then at the bottom click on uninstall driver

I don't think that will do the job. The next time it starts up,
Windows XP will re-detect and re-install the network card and
re-create the local area network connection.

To prevent the connection from appearing in the Network Connections
folder, you need to prevent XP from seeing the network adapter. Here
are some ways:

1. Un-install the network adapter in Device Manager and physically
remove it from the computer.

2. If the network adapter is integrated into the motherboard, disable
it in the BIOS setup program.

It's probably easiest to do nothing and just ignore the network
connection.
