I have had to reload Windows 2000 on a Dell machine -
after loading the 2 disks (operating system and drivers) I
am unable to connect to our network - the LAN icon does
not appear in the network connections box.

Also, in the device manager box, the drivers have big
yellow question marks and it says they are not installed.

Any suggestions?

You may have installed the wrong drivers or there was some other problem installing
them. On the driver disk find the folder for the drivers for the network adapter and
operating system. Then go to Device Manager and select update drivers for the network
adapter and when prompted select that you have the disk and then browse to the folder
where they are located and select OK to see if that works. Usually you have to
browse to the operating system folder listed for the drivers. Often a driver disk
will contain drivers for several operating systems. If you are unsure of the
make/model of your network adapter download this cool free program called Everest and
it should identify the make, model, version of your network adapter and any other
hardware on the computer including motherboard.. --- Steve
