hi people,

I'm having lots of problems with my new PC. I'm hoping
you guys can help me out, please.

Specs: Intel Desktop Board D875pbz.
Western Digital 40G HD.
Yamaha CRW3200E (CD writer).
Pioneer Dvd-Rom.
Samsung Floppy Drive.
Intel Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz.
Radeon 9200
Anything else you guys need to know, just let me
know.

okay here are the problems:
1. i can't boot from the Cd rom (windows xp cd). i
checked my bios settings and it doesnt even detect the cd
rom or dvd rom. it does detect my floppy and HD tho.
2. when i try to access my floppy drive thru windows
explorer or my comp, i get the following error
message :"A:/ is not accessible. No ID address mark was
found on the floppy disk."
3. I can connect on the internet but when i try to log in
to hotmail, ebay, etc.... i get "this page can not be
displayed... blah blah blah."

My problems started when i wanted to Clean install XP. i
got my cd and tried to boot from Cdrom but bios didnt
detect it so i just went into windows and opened up the
cd and tried to delete the partion but that didnt work so
i just installed over my then current XP (hoping it would
some how read my mind and know i wanted a clean install
ha ha, not). since i have this "new" xp on, the IE
problem occured. i then bought a floppy drive to just
get a boot disk and do a clean install from there but now
i'm having problems w/ the floppy drive!
All i want to do is a Clean Install! Please help!

Thanks for reading all this and thanks in advance for you
help!

.
have you set bios to auto detect drives,an altered boot
order so it boots from cd first?if this fails try bios
update or get a cheap cd-rom drive an then do clean
install

yeah... bios is set up to detect drives but still wont detect either one of my cd rom or dvd drives.... *so frustrating*
please help??

Are the optical drives installed on the same IDE channel as
a hard drive, or do you have hard drives on the primary
channel and the optical drives on the secondary?

Have you connected all the cables, including the 12 volt
power (have you checked to be sure the power works?)?

Have you set the jumpers properly as master and slave?
