I recently tried to reload XP Home and keep getting
NUMEROUS Dr. Watson Errors and then nothing but a back
ground. I think I have a virus in my BOOT process. How
can I stop the process and boot straight from the disk? I
am an amateur!

I don't have the error with me but they are about they
start with the userini file and go from there. I don't
want to blow away my folders so I need to boot from disk
and install into a separate directory and copy files
over. I just don't know how to do it.

What do the errors say?

You mentioned that you are an amateur. If your data is important you may
wish to consult with someone, experienced with XP, to look at your system.
While you might be able to fix the system quite simply you might also render
the data totally inaccessible if you don't know what you are doing.

Giving us exact error messages would be helpful though.
