I had to replace my hard drive on an E-machine that is about 6 years old and
had XP on it; I found an XP disk that came with my laptop. But, after
loading XP on my new hard drive I have a clock ticking saying it will
deactivate in 12 days.
How do I get the clock to stop ticking?

Thanks,

re-activate Windows...
you purchased the machine with it...so there should be no problems

I've never heard of a clock ticking that says you have to reactivate.
Usually you just get a pop up telling you this> Anyway what happens when you
select the option to Activate?
