Hi there,
I have just been given an old server from work.
I have formatted it and am trying to install Windows xp onto it, but the setup program does not work from dos and I don't know what to do next. I have never worked from scratch before....

Can anyone help?

Basically, enter Bios, select priority boot device to CD/DVD, save Bios settings, put XP CD in drive, reboot and follow instructions.

Hi there,
My server is about 1 1/2 years old. I have already formatted it, but it will not oot the cd. I think that there might be a problem with the boot up disk. The disk would work from windows, but I can't get that far. I would just have like to use this server as it has a mirrored hard drive. I might however be getting aother computer from work soon anyway. If I do get one, should I do anything different before I format the computer?

Thanks
AJ

Did you try Techys suggestion of making a boot floppy disk, to enable you to access the CD? That should do the trick :)
