Loading Windows Update Page Crashes Computer

Hi,

I've been having problems loading the Windows Update on my
computer. Whenever I go to the sire, my computer will
stall and my mouse moves around the desktop very slowly.
After a while, the mouse will just end up repainting the
background and nothing else. I have to shut off the
computer since task manager doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions on what the problem is?

More information is needed about your computer to diagnose this, and you
need to much more specific! When you say "task manager doesn't seem to
work," what does that mean exactly?? You can't get into task manager? Or
it just doesn't give you the information you need. You need to look at what
processes are running and find out which one is either not responding,
iexplore.exe for example, then see if you can end the process. Usually,
this will recover from a crash without the need to shutdown the computer -
that is - IF we are talking about Windows 2000 here. You didn't say, so how
are we to know?????
