My computer got the MS Blast worm and a friend tried to
fix it and totally messed everything up. I do not own a
new copy of XP, but I do own 2000. So, all I want to do
is erase XP and load the 2000, but my computer disables
the cd because it's telling me that it's an older version
than I have. How do I get past this? Or how do I
reformat my hard-drive and just start over?

never, ever trust a fix for a virus, especially one as
crude as MS Blaster. It is better to always just bite the
bullet and start over from scratch.
In your case, boot the PC up with the WIn2K disk and start
the install. WHen it tells you that there is already
Windows loaded on it, it will ask you what you wish to do.
You should choose to Delete the partition ( in this case
your C: drive) and then Create a new partition and load
Win2K on that using the NTFS file system. WHile it is
loading immediately go to your nearest computer store and
get McAfee Antivirus to avoid this from happening again.

Good luck!
