Hi.
I've been eager to test windows vista for quite some time, and finally I
have the chance to do it legit. However, Im struck by complications to begin
with.
My system is running on a raid 0 configuration, and I have to load my s-ata
driver. I had a lot of trouble finding the correct one, but I eventually
found the newest supplied from the manufacturer of my s-ata chipset.
Im installing vista from a burned out iso, called
vista_5384.4.060518-1455_winmain_beta2_x86fre_client-LB2CFRE_EN_DVD.iso
It boots, I start the installation, I get to the harddrive selection and I
have to switch discs and load the s-ata driver, which vista luckily
automaticly detects and then detects my raid 0 disc. I then switch back the
disc to the installation disc naturally, and starts the installation on my
selected harddrive.
And thats where the joy ends, you'd think it would be pancakes from here,
but the installation breaks and asks me to insert the windows installation
disc 1. With only having one DVD disc burned out (the one and only supplied),
Im thinking it might be the loading of the driver that somehow has broken the
installation script.
Anyone who has experienced the same, or has some suggestions on whats
happening before I try again.
