I am running Windows Home XP. I am unable to load my
local homepage (Roadrunner). I get a blue screen that
says 'error' in the bottom pane. All other webpages load
without problem. In addition, my computer will not allow
me access on certain download pages. When I try to go
there, I get an 'HTTP 403 (forbidden) error or a message
that reads 'This object has been blocked'. My other
computer on the same router has none of these problems.
I am using McAfee and Zone Alarm Pro, and have disabled
both with no luck. I have also tried reducing all
security settings, again without any improvements.
Several years ago, I had a similar problem with Win 98,
and it turned out to be some bad files in the 'Hosts"
folder. Is there a similar folder in XP. Or, what else
could it be???
Thank you for any help you can give me.
