Hello All,

I have a MFC Dialog based application. I am not using GDI or GDI+
libraries. I need to load PNG and JPEG images in this Dialog Based
application. Can you suggest me how to to do without using GDI\GDI+?

Thanks in advance,
Reji

It is not possible to have an MFC application without the GDI library.
libraries. I need to load PNG and JPEG images in this Dialog Based

What are you trying to do with the image? Display it? Process it? Write
it back out?

What should the image look like after it is loaded? An HBITMAP? An array
of color table indexes? An array of RGB colors? With or without alpha
support?

There are many solutions availabe:

1) Microsoft's CImage class. Easy to use eventhough it uses GDI and GDI+.
2) Microsoft's Windows Imaging Component. WindowsXP, Windows2003 Server,
VISTA only.
3) Microsoft's IPicture com interface. Jpeg, gif, bmp, metafiles, icons but
no png.
4) Third party free libraries(e.g., Libpng, jpeg-6b, etc).
