Hi

I have recently had problems with windows xp and the time
it takes to load personal settings on start up. Who ever
tries to log on gets an error message saying system cant
find file C:\WINDOWS\bsx5.dll

I have looked for this file on my windows disk and in
microsoft help but cant find it.

The settings do eventually load but it takes an ages.
Any clues anyone?

thanks

Did you run Spybot or Adaware right before this started
happening. bsx5.dll is spyware that may have been
attached to an application that Spybot or Adaware
deleted. You do not want to reinstall this file. Run them
both back to back.(Spybot & Adaware) What one doesn't
get, the other usually does.

For the slow startup, go to 'run' and type
in 'msconfig'. When the window pops up, go to
the 'startup' tab. If you have a Bunch of checked boxes,
that's a big part of your slow boot problem. Uncheck all
and then reboot your system. The ones that need to run on
boot-up will kick-in automatically.
Hope this helps. Wayne B.
