Loaded Win2k and now HP722C doesn't work

I loaded 2000 and now my HP Deskjet 722C doesn't print,
job just sets in que for a minute then reads "out of
paper". I checked the registry for a "hphparnt" entry
which may cause problems, it's from the PhotoSmart but
didn't exist. Have deleted the printed and deleted and
readded the port and printer several times. The OS doesn't
see it as plug and play device, BIOS is up=to=date, Dell
Demension XPS400. Printer worked fine right up to
installing 2000. At a loss???????

You have to install the correct drivers; drivers from earlier versions of
Windows won't work with W2K. Go to HP's website for current drivers.
