At present we have an External DNS server that doesn't service requests
directly but just provides updates to a commercial DNS provider once an
hour. We have about 40 of our own domains on there and about 400 records so
its under very little load.
We may soon be managing DNS for a number of other companies and will be
using the same arrangement where our server hosts the Primary zone files and
feeds updates to a commercial DNS provider.
Given that its a lowly PIII 450 with 128mb RAM (soon to be 384) can anyone
suggest how many zones it could host before I notice any real load on it.
