Load driver for RAID controller

Hi, I have my pc with windows xp installed on hdd that is attached to a
standard ide controller but now i want to use RAID capability of my
controllor but i must load "iastorm.sys" driver to recognize disk, so it is
possible to load new driver without a fresh installation.
Thanks

A friend called because their computer wouldn't boot.
The HDD seems to be defective, running "chkdsk /r" from the recovery console
results in a message of 'there are unrecoverable errors on the drive'
After installing a new HDD and reinstalling XP, I plugged the old HDD in as
a slave, but XP says...the disk is not formatted, would you like to format
it now?
Sometimes you can get lucky and recover data with data recovery tools that
do not rely on Windows to read the HDD.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a program to try?

Youre missing a few major areas...Just setting the BIOS for RAID controller
use
will get you nowhere, specially with an IDE hd.For RAID & RAID controller, you
need two SATA hds, once the same two are plugged into the controller, set BIOS
for RAID (usually advanced chipset),then set to boot to RAID (2nd
priority,cdrom
1st),once you exit BIOS,a post BIOS utility appears to set up a RAID set, once
thru,boot to xp cd,press F6,install RAID controller drivers,after,return to
xp cd
set up page....

Maybe I didn't explain well what is my problem.
I have a pc that works fine with windows xp and yhe installation is on hard
disk that is attached on standard ide controller (ICH7R) but now I want to
use a RAID capability of my chipset so I bought two new hard disk and I
created a RADI 1 and clone old installation on RAID disk but when I boot
with RAID disk Windows XP fails to start and reboot automatically.
I think the problem is hard disk controller driver that is not valid now and
I want to setup new driver without fresh installation.
Thanks

I have to do a repair install, after cloning and subsequent removal of
original HD, providing (ON FLOPPY) the RAID drivers for your controller.
That's at the point when booting from the CD, it says at the bottom line
"Press F6 to install drivers" or something as such...
