load drive c to e drive

IM CURRENTLY USING MY SMALL HARD DRIVE AND RUNNING OUT OF DISK SPACE ! I HAVE A NEW HARD DRIVE SET UP AS A SLAVE WANT TO USE THE SLAVE AS A PRIMARY! HOW TO I TRANSFER DATA FROM ONE TO ANOTHER? BOTH DRIVE ARE WESTERN DIGITAL . I HAVE A UTILITY CALLED DATA LIFE GUARD .IVE TRIED TO USE THIS IT TRANFERS ALL DATA BUT AFTER IT IS DONE IT ASK ME FOR A BOOT DISK PLEASE HELP !!!!!
 
Usually data transfer doesnt work in xp with that utility.
One that does is xps XCOPY though,you'll need the second hd free of all
data,reformat before you copy.Go to run,type:
XCOPY C:\*.*E:\ /c/h/e/k/r
A DOS window opens and runs thru the data,agree to all,If it doesnt run my
space between C: and \ needs another space,e-mail me if it doesnt but looking at
run on my comp.,its right.

See 'help' for creating a boot disk; though the winxp installation disk can
be used to boot.
Assuming its only data you wish to move, you can simply copy it to the new
hd. You might have to amend preferences in some apps to point to new data
location. eg the My Documents folder can be moved to a new location - see
properties -
You can of course uninstall apps and reinstall (custom install) on yr slave.
Personally I keep all my ms office data on a separate disk to the apps.
