Anyone know what this is? After Norton and Spybot were
not successful in removing it, I manually removed it in
safe mode, now i cannot use the web. Outlook express or
IE Explorer are useless on my home pc.

Can someone help me get back on the net?

This is why I always start my removal suggestions with:

"Get a copy of winsockxpfix.exe before you do anything.
This is just a safety
item in case you can't get on the internet afterwards.

http://www.iup.edu/house/resnet/winfix.shtm"

It will fit on a floppy so you can download it on a
friend's PC and "sneakernet" it to yours. It's designed
for XP but I've heard it will also work on Win2K. If not
there is always:

lspfix.exe from:

http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

I have other options but these are the easiest to use.
Let me know if they don't help and tell me your version of
Windows.

Ron

If you are running XPSP2, just run "netsh winsock reset". If you have
another OS, manual instructions to reset the tcp stack are included in the
MWAS help file.
