lLost system restore xp home

Installed new hard drive.Transfered all data I think?Just tried to excess restore,through system tools nothing happened.Then went to computer >properties>system restore tab,ms logo came up with system info .Computer froze.Couldn't get out of window. Rebooted manually,black blank space remained on desktop where tab was.Rebooted a couple of times,now back to normal without restore feature. Thanks

Sorry posted in someone else's thread.got this error when I tried to access restore through MS help on computer.Muck i checked reg.from link you gave me and it seems ok
