LJ3 - Always paper jam on first page

Greetings,
My HP LJ III is acting up. Every time I put in new paper I get
a paper jam 2 or 10 times. Then once it has printed one page it
works fine. I have no idea how the paper pickup works or just
what might be behind this. Anybody see this before?

Hi...

You most likely need a new pick-up roller and separation pad
installed, they aren't too expensive but unless you are some what
mechanically inclined it can be a bit of a job to do. There are a
number of places on the web where you can get the parts and even the
instructions on how to do it.

Feed Roller Part #: RG1-0931-060

Separation Pad #: RF1-1145-020

These parts are not available thru HP any more but many parts
resellers still carry them, you can probably Google the parts and find
them that way.
