LJ series II on Win2K - partial page printing

Sometimes the printer will print the right 2/3 of a landscape page and then,
on a separate sheet, will pring the left 1/3 of the page (approximate
fractions).

This printer has been working fine.

To solve the problem I'm going to try two things:

Remove and reinstall the driver.... except I'm not sure where to find a new
driver for Win2K! It's not on the hp site.

Check the memory module for bad connections, corrosion, etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, this printer takes *forever* to get going on a print job. It's
connected directly via a parallel cable. I'd like to improve the speed.
The article on the hp web site isn't very helpful - it only discusses the
"factors" but not much about what to do.

Thanks,

Fred

I'd guess the drivers are included with w2k. Uninstall and reinstall
the printer.

From the buttons does the printer print a status page OK ?

I think the problem may be that the page definitions are not correct.
As I recall, the LJII has an LCD setup screen. Make sure that it knows
the default page size is 11 x 8.5. Ditto in the XP software.

Look for a way to reset the printer to factory settings.

It's part of the OS, no need for any other driver. Scroll to the
bottom of the HP list, it's not in the order you may think it should
be.

The printer only has 512K of memory. When it runs out of this then the
image is continued on the next page. There is no way to make the
printer go any faster. Adding memory to it won't accomplish this.
