My neighbor who is elderly and who is legally blind (he uses BIG print on
his computer) has a LJ 4P. I often help my neighbors and never charge for
what I do so I am appealing to anyone who can give me advice/help on this
problem.

Note that while I retired from HP, I worked on in the software/consulting
end of the company.

He has a paper jam. I can't see the paper from the front but when I open the
rear panel, it appears that there is a sheet wrapped tightly around a
roller. One corner is loose but most of the rest is not so I am afraid
pulling it might just tear off the end. My guess is that the unit will have
to be opened to get to the paper. I have nothing other than the owner's
manual which, of course, does not tell you how to take it apart.

Can anyone help me help him?

Thanks,

JohnP

Can you tell which rollers? The one on the exit of fuser assembly?
One of the 2 along the back of the 4p? Or is the jam occuring before
the paper reaches the fuser?

Not the tiny exit rollers at the back but the larger one just in front of
them.

Without a manual that tells how to remove the covers, I hesitate to try it.
Does anyone have a copy?

John
