lj 4050 questions

i just got a used lj 4050 and have two questions.

the display light stays on.
on my lj 4000, the light went off after a few minutes.
is there any setting to turn the lj 4050 display light off.

the toner gauge on the configuration page reads empty on 2 cartridges.
any way to reset the toner gauge so i am getting a more accurate reading.

The amount of time before it goes into power save should be set in the
Configuration menu.

It should ask when you load a toner cartridge if it's a new one. I've
never bothered to figure out why it doesn't ask all the time.
 
powersave was off
so i set it for 15 minutes and i will see if the light goes off

when i put a toner cartridge in there is no message.
but the printer goes offline wehn it reinitializes with a new toner cartidge
inserted and i have to hit the go button to go online.

thanks for the input.
never dawned on me that the display light works with powersave.
