If I understand properly, you would like to have a warning when the printer
is out of paper.
Unfortunately, if the printer driver does not support this function there
seems to be no way to build this feature without programming. You may try
to find if there is any updated printer software available. Meanwhile, you
can contact the manufacturer of the printer for this issue to see whether
they have any solutions or workarounds.

My boss has asked me to have his computer warn him when his LJ1200 runs out
of paper. The driver doesn't seem to have this functionality built into it.
Any ideas? Thanks.
