LiveUpdate Tamper Protection

I am running Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.5.500. LiveUpdate is reporting itself as a Tamper Protection violation. This is on a Windows XP platform running on a LAN internet environment.
 
I'm not surprised.

The ‘Tamper Protection’ feature provides protection to the Symantec software from hackers that attempt to deactivate or modify Symantec’s code.

Set it to "log only" and it wont/shouldn't bother you ... much. ;)


There are better paid-for AV programs.:thumb:

err, not really, I would assume it thinks it's being attacked. :D

I ain't used Norton since I came to my sences in 1995. ;)

Good malware/spyware/viruses/trojans & worms can turn off your AV program, this is Norton's attempt to prevent that ... it's had 'problems' like you describe since it was first implemented in ver 10

At least you know it's working ... sort of. :thumb:
