Live File System is D.O.A.?

This system is bugged!!!
It only sporadically works. Most of the time it takes putting the disk in 10
times to get it to mount once!

I came to this site looking to find answers, only to find many other threads
of the same nature. Most of the threads have no response at all and none that
I have found have any "official" response. Come on MS, what are your people
getting paid for? I bought Vista partly because your advertising say that
Vista is suppose to make your life easier in not having to spend time dealing
with computer problems. Is this some kind of a warped joke?

I have tried this with 3 different brand of disks, and on two different
brand CD/DVD burners with the same results! I even went so far as to clean
install Vista 4 times thinking it was an install driver corruption problem,
only to get the same results with a "virgin" system! (No NERO, etc.) The
burners worked flawlessly in same computer with XP Pro.

This disk burning system is worthless in it's current configuration.
With no way to force it to even launch or come up upon inserting a disk, it
is only going to piss people off and hurt those who have trusted their data
to it!

Looking forward to any helpfull response.

""official" response"
"Come on MS, what are your people getting paid for?"
Answering newsgroup posts is not part of their job.
If that is what you want, you are in the wrong place.
These are peer to peer support newsgroups and Microsoft does nor
officially monitor them
When Microsoft employees are here, they are here on their own time.

If you still want an official response, you will need to contact
Microsoft support directly.
You will need to use a support incident (you have a few free if
Windows Vista is retail) or pay for it.

If your computer came with Windows Vista, then you have OEM.
Contact the computer manufacturer for support since Microsoft does not
support OEM.
The manufacturer should be able to help you with OEM issues.
One of the many reasons OEM is cheaper than retail.

If you upgraded to windows Vista:
Have you verified Windows Vista compatibility with your hardware,
particularly the drive?
Check with the drive manufacturers.

Since you have installed several times, try again with Windows XP to
verify it still works with Windows XP.
It would not be the first time hardware picked a bad time to fail.

Jupiter, thank-you for your rapid reply. I know that you have done much to
help many people here.
Yes, I know that "These are peer to peer support newsgroups" and that is why
I am here. I have been building PC systems since the AT came out so we are
about the same age.
Since I am the OEM, I came here hoping to find a solution.
Sorry for my rant of frustration, however the facts remain the same
concerning Live File System.
The build is: Asus P5K Deluxe, C2D E6850, Ballistix Tracer 2GB PC2-8500,
Geforce 8800 GTX 768MB, Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 500GB, Pioneer DVR-110 /
DVR-110D 16X Dual Layer DVD±RW Drive, LG GCC-4522BK DVD 16x + CD-RW 52x32x52
Combo Drive, Mitsumi FA404A/FA404M-Black 7-in-1 USB 2.0 Media Drive,
Thermaltake 850W PS; and scores a 5.9 on Windows Experience Index. All
componets show as "working properly" in the the Device Manager.

As far as "try again with Windows XP to verify it still works with Windows
XP", yes the drives do, however as you should know XP does not recognize the
data on Live File System disks; Xp will mount the disk as blank disk, less
the space already used (Multisession?).

The strange thing is that when Vista does mount the disk, it see all the
files as you would expect, however, this only happens sporadically.

Any suggestions?
