Hope I'm typing this in the right place, I'm brand new to the site and don't know what I'm doing but here goes: Every now and again my computer crashes and when it starts back up it tells me it has just recovered from a serious error, namely that an unknown error occured in the cd recording engine driver and that I should contact Simpli Software, bit worried about doing this though incase I have to know or do anything technical! Any tips?

If your using a CD Burning Program called Simpli Software and you have the installation disc you could always try unintalling it and re inatalling it.

Ya never know it might work, and it cant do any harm.

Your PC is displaying a classic "driver error" ... http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=DownloadScdhttp://www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=DownloadScdupdate the drivers ... However, a better cause of action would be to uninstall that particular piece of software, via "Add & Remove Programs" and get yourself a copy of http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/202-7081290-2174263http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/202-7081290-2174263Nero 6, the second one on the list. :thumb:

Thanks for all your help. I'll try uninstalling the software and I like the sound of Nero 6 but which list is it 2nd on? (I know: "silly woman, can't believe she can't find the list!" but I did say this is my first time!)

Oh and no it doesn't crash when using the cd burning software, infact I haven't used it yet. there's no pattern to when it will crash but once it starts to crash it's best just to switch it off and come back later when it's cooled down.
