I got 3 client (win2k) and 1 "server" (winxpp), no domain but workgroup.
3 client hold 10 same users and their doc filies have be syncronizated
inside each client.
Doc files for each users have to be mirrored (just copy)
inside the server.

Have I to buy a specific backup software, or can I use some windows
utilities?

Thanks in advince for any help

You could use offline files, or a third party app like SecondCopy 2000
(www.centered.com - a very nice substitute for offline files). But
regardless, what's your goal? This sounds like a pain to administer, and may
not be necessary. Why not just have all users store all their documents on
the "server" computer and access them from there?

Thanks for your replay.:-)
Clients and "server" aren't always on at the same time and users haven't so
much
practice. They scare themselves just to put log on password (came from
win98). :-(
I have just more practice and they decided that I am the admin.

Thanks again

I know that one! You made the mistake of admitting you knew how to do
something.....;-)

They need to leave all the computers on, all the time, in order to have full
network functionality. Put a sticky note on each monitor. Turn off the
computers only on Fridays, or somesuch - ther days, have them just log out.
They'll learn.

I still say, leave the data all on one place, and you'll have fewer
problems - especially given the non-technical nature of your users, it's
best to keep things as simple as possible.

Use a batch file login script on all computers (put it in startup) to map a
drive to the "server" share. Redirect everyone's My Documents to that mapped
drive.

Seriously, they'll learn, eventually.

Make sure you do regular backups of the data folder(s) on that "server".
Thanks again

Hope this helps.

Why are you so right? :-)

I will try your way.
