lite-on external drives

I own a lite-on sohw 832s dvd+r/+rw burner and it is nolonger wanting to
recognize any type of disc have unistalled and reinstalled it and updated the
firmware but to noavail. help please

How long have you owned it? I've had several Lite-On burners
crap out on me, so it's possible it might be failing. But, I've
found cdfreaks.com to be a great resource for asking about
burners and such, so you might want to point your browser to
their forums.
