LITE-ON DVD SOHD-167T - will not play music

My DVD drive will play CD - ROMs e.g. games, but will recognise a music cd. I
keep getting message insert cd!!

My DVD RW which is also by same company does recognise and play music.

Can anything be done to allow music or do I need to buy a new one?

Thanks for help, but my DVD is ok for XP and the knowledge page I had
already ran through.

back to drawing board for me, and hopefully I can still get the answer.
