Listbox formatting help (coloring of specific rows)

I've been trying to find a way to modify a row's forecolor in a listbox based
upon certain criteria, but can't figure out how to change the forecolor for
those specific rows (way I do it changes the whole listbox). So far it seems
it's not possible/practical from what I've seen/read. I downloaded a few
examples that kind of show what I need to do, but they either don’t work
properly or seem to use logic that won’t really fit into my program (plus
still don’t work really well).
Is there any sort of ActiveX component or 3rd party solution (Access/vb.net)
I can use that will help/do what I need?

I use true-grid from componentone http://www.componentone.com activex for
vb6 would work unbound for access downloads an eval, this component does all
sorts of criteria colouring etc, very flexable.

vb.net

use the listview control that comes with vb.net you can control the
colouring of each cell or row based on information within the data.
