Hi
I am trying to export from Excel in CSV format however by
default this uses the comma to seperate each field.

Now I know it is possible to change the 'list seperator'
on XP from a comma to anything you like. What I want to
use is a pipe '|'.

I did it on my laptop which im pretty sure has XP
Professional and it let me change the list seperator by
going to the 'control panel' then to 'regional settings'
and choosing the number tab. It is then one of the options
on there. However on my Desktop PC the number tab is not
there and I think this must be down to the fact I use XP
Home edition on my desktop.

Surely there is a way of changing this 'list seperator' on
XP home?

Can anyone help me?

Regards

In Regional and Language Options, click Customize, next to the language select Pull down. The Numbers tab should be your first tab.

You can also accomplish this manually. Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International

Look in the right pane for a value called sList. Double click the sList value and enter the pipe symbol. You may need to log off/log on for the change to be noticeable.
