Is there a definitive list on the net of printers which i can easily refill
their cartridges with ink, i.e. a list of printers that don't have their ink
cartridges 'chipped'.

I am fed up with my Epson680 printer, having to buy cartridges when i know
lots of people who just buy ink and fill them up that way.

Also, which are the best printers to buy to be able to fill up in this way
(but with good quality prints) ?

Cheers

Canon tends to lead the way with unchipped cartridges and Photo quality
capability.
Your conclusion that all chipped cartridgs cannot be easily filled is
somewhat dated: for instance the 680/777 Epson chip is easily reset, as are
all other Epson chippery.
As below for a good start...

You shouldn't despair about these "chipped" cartridges, since there
are several work-arounds for this. Perhaps the best is to use a
simple reset gizmo that you can pick up for about $8 on eBay or
elsewhere. There is also a software reset program available for
$12.95, but it is limited to only certain Epson cartridges. Other
methods involve swapping the old cartridge with a new one temporarily
to "fool" the printer.

There are several quality bulk ink manufacturers that make inks
specific to all the various Epson models, even including the
pigment-based types. There's no reason for not taking advantage of
this and saving well over 75% in the process.
