List of control characters

Please send a list of control characters to me. (For example, I would like
to underline in Microsoft Notepad.)

I ASSUME that I would press the control key at the same time (or slightly
before) I press the control character key. Am I correct?

there is notepad,
then there is wordpad,
then there is msword for office.

each has a different level
of formatting power, whereas
notepad has none and office
has hundreds.

if you need more power than
what ms word for office can provide,
then you likely need a different
program, like publisher or frontpage.

They're all in Help if you'll just spend some time
there learning where things are. Try "shortcuts" and
see what you get.

No, you are not correct. This is no such universal list. How to do
things like underlining depends on what application you are using.
Although Ctrl-U is a common key combination for underlining in word
processors, it doesn't work in all applications. Notepad, for example,
is a text editor, not a word processor, and doesn't support such
formatting.

The Ctrl, Shift, and Alt keys don't repeat so you would depress them
before and while depressing the other keys, and then release late.
