List Numbering

I am creating a rather simple slideshow with one image on each slide and a
label for each image. Is there any way to insert an automatic list number in
those labels similar to the list feature in Word? That way, the first slide
will have a label that begins with 1., the second with 2., etc. Likewise, if
I add a new slide between 1 and 2, the label that previously read 2. will
automatically become 3.

Thanks,

Peter

Not exactly, but here's something that might work:

Choose View, Master, Slide Master
Select the page/slide number placeholder and move it to where you want your
label text to start. Format it to match the label text you plan to use.

Return to Slide view and on each slide, add the label text to the right of where
the page number now appears.

In fact, I'd go back to Master view and move the slide title or body text
placeholders next to the page number so you can just click to add your labels on
each slide and have them appear in the outline as well.
