on the server machine is there any way I can get a listing to print out of
the users and computers that are on the machine?

I have just started with a company and would like to remove any one or
system that is not valid, but I would have to go around to each machine to
check and also check with the department heads if the have quit.

Use the dsquery command from a Windows XP domain member.
