Ok some how this thing called liquid audio was downloaded to my computer. Now When I turn my computer on I get a pop up saying that liquid audio drivers were not loaded because it could cause my computer to become unstable. Then when I tried to play a cd the cd would spin but nothing happened. I went in to the device manager and looked at it and it says the same thing code 39 and then I clicked details. A window popped up with a link to the liquid audio website. I checked out the site and they have no help. I tried down loading a patch they make but it won't let me. I have tried to remove liquid audio except for some reason I can't find in any where on my computer. I was told to search in safe mode I did that too. I came up with nothing. Can anyone help me!!! I am lost.

do you still have the installation program? if you run it again you should be able to uninstall it, do you have a system restore point to a time before it was installed?

no install program. I tried system restore but it was turned off. I backed up everything I need on the computer so I'm not worried about losing anything.

after re reading your first post i have a couple more Q's, have you uninstalled the software ? the CD drive has an error next to it in device manager, correct ? what make and model is your CD drive ?

I can't unistall liquid audio because I can't find it. My cd-rom is a samsung cdrw/dvd SM-332B. Yes in the device manager it says windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted ormissing code 39. Then when I click on details it tells me that liquid audio caused the problem.

ok first lets try and find the liquid audio file, then we can sort out the driver for the CD drive

have you got a shortcut to it in the start menu? have you been able to run the program at all ?

no I never used it and there is no short cut. This why I am confused. I didn't install it on my computer. My guess is when someone used my pc they downloaded it. I ran a search but I didn't come up with anything except a dr. watson thing. Sorry I don't know all that much about computers. I apologize. I really aprreaciate your help though.

i dont know if this will help, but if you could post a screen shot of the folder names in C:\Program Files and host it at imageshack.us and post the link, if you have already gone through all of the folders and couldn't find it dont bother

also what folders are in the C:\ directory ?

ok this is what is in there. 844c7386da9d71266798ae71e. I have no idea what that is but there is a folder with that name. The rest are dell, DVR106MR, My downloads, program files, unzipped, 8881492 (don't know what that is either), documents and settings, 1386, my games, windows, adobe album, drivers,my download files,my music, temp, WUTemp. Thats it

ok check in the two folders you have no idea about and 1386, drivers, dell and the unzipped folders

if its not in there then i dont know where it is

only thing i can think of is install the CD driver and see if it works, go into device manager view the properties and try and rollback the drive, if you cant uninstall it, you should then be able to install the drive by using the Add new hardware wizard in the control panel

I tried all that. Didn't work. Thanks so much though for all your help. I really appreciate it. At least I tried. Thanks

Actually I did. I searched both names but didn't find anything. I also saw that they came out with a patch because other people had the same problem. For some reason it won't let me download it.
