Greetings List,
We are attempting to generate an ssl certificate for a Linux web
server. We
have generated the key and the CSR using openssl. We then submitted the
CSR
to the Windows CA using the web interface (http://servername/certsrv >
Request a Certificate > Advanced Request > Submit a certificate request
using
a base64... > browsing for the CSR..).
When I retrieve the certificate using the CA MMC > Issued Certificates
the
"Issued to:" field reads IUSR_SERVERNAME instead of the cn that I
specified
when creating the certificate. Furthermore, when I take the cert over
to my
linux system and attempt to view the certificate using openssl, the
Subject:
line reads:
Subject:
CN=\x00I\x00U\x00S\x00R\x00_\x00D\x00C\x000\x001\x00B\x00L\x00D\x00R
Clearly something has gone wrong here. Does anyone know what we are
doing
wrong?
Any tips are appreciated.
Thanks,
Grant
