Hi.
I have a recently aquired Linotype Circon, and I have a few questions
about this scanner, so I am hoping to find someone who has some
experience with this dinosaur. My main questions about the Circon are:
1) I know the scanner autofocuses, but I am curious as to whether you
can manually focus it using Linocolor? And 2) I am getting weird,
"solarized" previews on the Powerbook G3 I am using as a scanning
station. I am curious whether anyone else has had that same
experience.
Anything else you can tell me about your experiences with the Circon
would be appreciated. I have used a lot of other pre-press scanners
before (scitex, heidelberg, etc.) but not this one, and every machine
has its quirks and strengths. I am also planning to experiment with
wet-mounting trannys on this scanner, so if you've ever wet-mounted on
a flatbed before, feel free to let me know so I can pick your barins
about this too.
Thanks very much - leo
