I realize this is a long shot but has anybody had a Linoscan desktop
scanner repaired lately? When I called Heidelberg USA I was first
given a phone number that was no longer in service. When I called back
I was then given the web site of some place that I think is in Germany
and that has ignorned my e mails.
Assuming there is no facility that can work on these expensive
scanners that Heidelberg has abandoned, does anybody have any thoughts
as to the cause, and possible cure, for a single straight line that
runs from top to bottom of the image in the direction of the scan? The
line looks like the kind of line that might be drawn using a ruler and
a pencil. It seems to be in the same place on every image and there's
only one. I've cleaned the glass on the scanner thoroughly and that
hasn't helped.
