Hi,
I'm using a Linksys wireless router. First my Notebook had problems with
certain websites(and still does) now my Handheld can't even get on the
Internet. Could my router have a problem? Are there known problems out
there?
Thanks

I think the linksys software is a ROM - therefore not affected by
viruses. The problem may very well be with your router - but if this
is the case has nothing to do with a virus.

Sometimes, all it takes is to re-flash the router with the current version
or a later version of the firmware being used on the router. I have seen
the problem a few times in other posts in NG(s) that deal with routers
about some sites not accessible when a router is in use. The solution was
re-flash the router (install the firmware) again and it may fixed the
problems. The router can have a bad install of the firmware out of the box.

ITS FIXED!!!
It was the router! I unplugged the router and tried a cable, eureka
allsites accessable. Plugged the router back in, bingo, a little bit of
this but not everything. I reconfigured the router, reinput the Mac
address and Bingo I'm back in action......IT WAS THE ROUTER! Thank you
everyone for your help.

How do you like... Here we were concentrating all efforts on the PC and never even asked
about your access to the Internet and topology. Go figure....

I went through something similar- Linksys (through Packistan or
Bombay tech service) had me first unplug, but my router kept going flaky on
me- next it was reset button for 30 seconds plus unplug power. I
eventually redid the firmware and have had no problems for 3 days now....
and counting...

One word though- Linksys routers and AOL don't get along- version 9.0
probably corrupted it- and they said to roll back to 8.0- as a stable
version. I have my doubts about 8.0 as well. <G>
