have a BEFW11S4 v. 2 w/ Comcast HSI. The router is wired to one
computer and connected wirelessly (WUSB11 v. 2.6) to two other
computers. Everything works fine (internet, Local Network). However,
on one of the wirelessly connected computers, if I check the Internet
Gateway Stauts, all the detailed information is "Not Available." On
the other two computers the details are shown. As far as I can tell,
everything is setup the same way on both wirelessly connected
computers. The router is left at all the default settings (except
channel, WEP and password and yes, WEP is configured properly on the
computer.).

Does anyone have any idea why I can't see the details on the one
computer?

Thanks.

Since the problem is with one computer, and others computers work OK,
this implies that the root-cause of the problem is on that flawed
computer. Look there exclusively.

Did it ever work? Is XP's networking configured ok?

My hunch is the wireless card is flawed, or perhaps it's position to not
get a signal. Try putting the computer next to the BEFW11S4 box to
ensure signal. Try putting the working wireless card in the
non-functioning computer to isolate the problem to either card or computer.

Shutdown, then remove the wireless card, then restart to get the machine
to "forget" about it. Then shutdown, Then re-insert the wireless card,
then restart to "re-install".

Thanks for your reply. However, it is not that the computer is
non-functional. It actually connects to my home network and to the
internet without a problem. It's just that the system tray internet
status icon (or the "Internet Connection" in "My Network Places")
reports the data as "Not Available" (connection duration, packets,
etc.) when I check the status, while the other desktop with the same
setup gives the actual numbers.

This is a desktop computer with a WUSB11 v. 2.6 USB wireless adapter.
The "Wireless Network" icon reports the connection as "Good" or "Very
Good".

Until very recently the full status details were reported. The only
change I can possibly trace it to is an upgrade from Norton Internet
Security 2003 to the 2004 version. However, I did the same upgrade on
the other computers without this happening.
