Hello i am using a linksys router.

But half the time i can not get a signal.

Today the signal was 69% but would not connect to the net.

I went up stair and right next to the desktop pc (Where am getting my cable broanband from and got 100%).

But the linksys profile said i got 100% and was,nt on the net.

But the laptop pc still got acces to the internet.

Downstairs the net does,nt work half the time.

But i get a ip address, subnet mask ,but no gateway .T he ip 192 xxxxxxx and subnet mask 255 xxxxxxxxxx

Any help here what is going wrong.

The net works and sometimes it does,nt.

Am using WEP 128 with the right code.

Have the Wireless card access lists been tampered with?

For example have the wireless MAC address's for the cards on each computer been entered or deleted within the router setup pages?

What signal do you need to get the internet to work?

.
first thing if u dont get the signal
is to change the wirless channel on your router

now if it says u are connected and your signal is like 70% or 100%
and your net hangs or dont work

try this:

go into your router settings 192.168.1.1 or whatver click on the status tab then click on the dsl connection. and gateway tabs
just keep hovering between these tabs

then at the same time open another internet browser and keep refreshing the page u want to view
this should sort out your problem
as i have a linksys router and it often hangs on the internet
and its so annoying

i think linksys suck and next time im going for Netgear!

let me know how this goes im fairly optmistic that it willsort out your problem
