Links Wont Open

Hello

I have windows xp installed and when I try to open a link in a webpage it
doesnt do anything, so i have to copy the shortcut and paste it into the web
bar? This also occurs with msn messenger, the go to emails link doesnt do
anything when i click it? can anyone help me?
