be appreciated

'Linda',

Start > Settings > Control Panel > d.c. Add\Remove Programs > d.c.
Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools > select Repair Internet
Explorer > OK

Regards,
Emrys Davies.

Hope you are using Windows.

Start > Run > type in: msinfo32 > OK > Tools > Internet Explorer Repair
Tool.

I am sorry but i typed in msinfo32 went to tools what do I do next. I really
appreciate everything you are doing

'Linda',

Click Tools > c. Internet Explorer Repair Tool > select Repair Internet
Explorer > OK

If this does not work it may be that you have a bug, but more on that
later.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Emrys,

Which version of Windows are you imagining that Linda has? ;)

'Frank',

I have Win98 SE, OE6 and IE6.

My 'Application used to perform action reads':

"C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome

Everything else is as advocated by you.

I have no problem opening URLS anywhere, but I would like your advice as
to whether I leave well alone or alter the above setting to what you
suggested.

Thanks,
Emrys Davies.

I have xp home edition
