When I try to open a link from an email, a new browser
window opens, but it only idles - the page never loads.
The same thing happens when I try to open a link on a web
page. I first discovered this when I was trying to install
some updates from windows update. I went to the windows
update webpage, and the page was stuck on the part where
it says it is trying to find a new version of windows
update. When I refreshed the site, it then loade to the
part where I could scan for updates. However, when I tried
to install my updates, the download/install window opened,
but there was no indication of progress (both bars did not
move), when I tried to cancel the action IE6 gave me a
window saying that the program needed to be shut down, and
asked whether I wanted to send an error report or not. I
have windows 98 with a cable connection, I hope someone
out there can help me. An email with any ideas would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
