links will not open...tried everytthing

when i click on links pointing to external pages, or that open a separate
window, i get blank pages or the page could not be displayed error.

i've seen some similar posts here and i didn't want to duplicate, but i've
tried EVERY solution listed and i still can't recover from this. i've
updated the dll's, fixed the registry, reinstalled IE, still nothing. what
am i missing?

John, I am the furthest thing from a techie, but since I didn't see anyone else reply.... do you have a pop-up stopper? It took me a week to find out that even clicking a link was blocked by my stopper. I had to press Ctrl when I clicked the link to get it to bypass the stopper. Hopefully your solution is this easy.
