I am trying to make links to Contact Companies from various folders. I am
not sure how to make it right. I managed to copy the data over to a folder
(select all -> File -> Folders -> CopyContacts). The result was that I got
the contacts there but althoug I have the order Company name first then
Contact names the names were first and this I cannot use.

Thanks

Could you explain a bit more where you see this sorting order? If in the
Address Book when pressing "To"; you cannot change this as it doesn't use
the view from the Contact Folder. You can however send directly from the
Contacts folder by selecting the contact(s) and choose Actions-> New message
to contact...

Thanks Roady.
Sorry I try again
In Outlook my contacts in the addres cards are in order of Compay as a
header followed with Name. When I select all the Cards and go File ->
Folders -> CopyContacts and then move out of Outlook into My Documents and
create a new folder X and Paste. The cards appeare there as *.msg format and
work OK as links, but the they all have contact person name as header,
except a couple that were missing the contact person. This means that I
cannot use them sorted as by company name.
Would there be a simple thing to hold into the original order?
Hope this helps
Thanks

I understand you a bit better now :-)

But no, you cannot change the view anymore now because you are out of
Outlook and into Explorer. All items now have turned into files and will be
treated as such by Explorer. For what reason are you storing your contacts
outside of Outlook?

I do not really have a need to store anything outside Outlook. This all
started when I tried to create a short cut from outside file to quickly
pop-up the contact name and tel number. This all by company names. For
example a large orderfile in Excel. Tied to reduce the number of coming out
of Excel and returning.

Alright, you might want to take a look at Outlook 2003 with Business Contact
Manager then.
