Hi All

Hope you can help, I have been trying to fix a friends email, basically when
he receives an email with a website link it fails to work, when you click on
it it just doesnt do anything, I have been in the settings and allowed the
links to be seen etc and also set the default to "less secure"

He is currently using XP and Internet 7, although he does have office 97
installed
All windows updates have also been done

Regards

Hi Rob,
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

2... You need to be sure your system is clean from malwares and Viruses by
scanning for them.

Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 urlmon.dll click [OK]
netsh winsock reset Click [OK]
Reboot your Computer and try the links.

Do you have any third-party toolbar installed?.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all your replies, I have tried them but still had no look, how do
you repair outlook express
He is running XP and internet 7 on an AMD k6 with 191 mb ram - this I think
isnt helping the situation it could be a memory problem as internet 7 is
hungry on resources and maybe cannot open outlook and internet at same time ??

Any further solutions would be great

I don't think it will help, but if you really want to repair (reinstall) OE
you will first have to uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 and then see
this article:

XP

Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.
