IE6 has started to act bizarrely recently. Clicking on a link in an e-mail
message in Outlook opens up the My Documents folder and not IE - or Firefox
for that matter.
Also, I have a program called Homeseer that has an icon that is supposed to
open up a web page, but that opens up the My Docs folder also.

Is this a registry issue and if so, please could someone suggest a solution.

Thank you.

At the time this problem started, IE7 Beta2 Preview was not installed, but I
have installed it now but I'm still having the same problem.

The problem existed before I installed IE7 Beta2 Preview and installing it
didn't solve the issue.

Any ideas?

I didn't suggest that installing it /would/ resolve the issue. I just asked
if it had been installed or was installed now.

Assuming IE is your default browser:

1. You click on a link and an IE window doesn't even open:

2. You click on a link and an IE window opens but it doesn't load: Try
re-registering all of the DLLs listed in this KB article...

3. Installing the latest Cumulative Patch for IE may solve the problem as a
side-affect. Check in at Windows Update.
