When I am reading mail messages in Outlook and the
message contains a link, my system will not allow me to
click on the link and go directly to the indicated web
page. The error message indicates that this is
disallowed with my current setting and I should contact
my Administrator (me, in this case). This is something
that my system seems to do on its own from time to time.
I've fixed it before on somebody's advice but can't
remember where I went to correct the situation. Any
advice would be appreciated.

WHat is the exact text of the error message?

Because secure versions of Outlook block shortcut files, I recommend that you use a little free add-in for Internet Explorer when you want to send someone a link to a page. You can get MailTo_URL from http://www.slipstick.com/addins/gallery/index.htm#mailto. It adds an "Email Page" command to the right-click menu in IE and uses the title of the page for the subject of the mail message.

Make sure that the registry entry you create to tell IE where to find the application matches the location where you save the program.
